Line Cook Bar and restaurant in Olde Kensington looking for a line cook to assist the chef on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.Our menu is small plates of mostly fried items and sandwiches, such as a smash burger and chicken cutlet sandwiches. Experience in a fast-paced kitchen is preferred but not necessary. Must be willing to learn. Applicants should be able to consistently show up for their shifts and be a valuable member of a small team.We are hiring for these specific shifts: Friday 4pm - 12am (8 hours) Saturday 4pm - 12am (8 hours) Sunday 4pm - 11pm (7 hours) Applicantsmust be able to work these three shifts.As we get busier this schedule may have the opportunity to expand.This role is for roughly 23 hours per week, starting at $18.00/hr, but there is the opportunity for growth both in hours and pay. Responsibilities: Supporting the Head Chef with the organization, coordination and supervision of the preparation of hot and cold food production, maintenance of quality and/or portion control, and the maintenance of sanitation and safety standards. Responsible for making prep lists for the following day. Responsible for prompt and thorough closing of the kitchen, including certain cleaning duties. Ability to follow detailed instructions. Desired Qualifications: Minimum of 1-2 years experience preferred. Ability to follow instructions in detail. Ability to work and multitask with urgency for long stretches of time. Strong communication skills, whether it be with guests or other employees. Ability to be on your feet for long periods, and to move/lift from 50-70lbs. Compensation: $18/hour
